Al's WoW Characters

I love playing computer games. Lately I've been playing a lot of World of Warcraft (WoW) because it's fun and also because I can stay in contact with two of my buds. I started playing in Dec 2006 and by July 2007 I got a character to level 70! By Dec 2008 I have two characters at level 70 and one at level 80! Here are some screen shots I took.

By the time the Burning Crusade came out I hadn't hit level 60 yet with my Night Elf Hunter. When I hit 60 it wasn't all that so I had to work to level 70. I hit 70 after 16 days and 6 hours. Then I tried a Night Elf Druid and found that I could solo with him quite easily so I hit level 70 after only 11 days and 14 hours!

By the time the Wrath of Lich King expansion came out I started some horde characters on a different server and I got a Tauren Death Knight to level 80 in 7 days and 1 hour (that's because they start at level 55).

Ulwas, Tauren Death Knight

Death Knights are pretty darn cool and I've always wanted to play a Tauren. It's been great fun and I got this guy to level 80 in just above 7 days.

So I got from level 70 to level 80 in 4 days! I averaged about 4 hours per level going from level 55 to level 60 and about 9 and half hours per level going from 70 to 80.

This was my DK(Death Knight) when I finished the starter quests. DK's get all blue gear and an epic ground mount. Pretty cool horse.

Here's Ulwas flying. I thought he looked cool.

By level 70, which I hit after playing a little over 3 days, I got an epic flying mount.

Nice shot of my Tauren DK.

And here's a cool disguise. There were quite a few others but I only thought to take a screen shot of this one. The disguise quests are fun.

I this rocket was pretty cool especially with a big Tauren riding it.

A real cool ability is their walking on water ability. It's awesome.

So he can run at full speed on water! And if I'm in a group those in the group can walk or ride on water too!

So for just 950 gold I bought this lovely DK flying mount. Heh, heh.

And for a measly 750 gold I bought this cool epic land mount. I just had to have him.

My other Horde characters:

Alastoricus, level 8 Orc Warrior. Strangely enough I have a hard time soloing warriors.

Gulaji, level 6 Troll Mage.

Alaenus, level 6 Blood Elf Paladin

Eliathas, level 12 Undead Priest. He's awesome but impossible to solo.

Alfaestus, Night Elf Druid

This is the second toon I got to level 70, a Night Elf Druid, Alfaestus. Druids are pretty awesome.

I took this pict because I never flew in this area at the same time a boat was heading in the same direction. Pretty neat.

Here's Alfaestus falling. I thought it was pretty cool.

Druids get to change into a bear form to fight like warriors. Great armor class and high damage plus rage bonuses.

Then druids get to shapeshift into a seal. Can't fight much while a seal but can breathe underwater and underwater speed increased by 50%! Awesome! I added a glyph with the Wrath of the Lich King expansion so that the seal form travels at 100% speed in the water!

Then I got to shapeshift into a cat. As a cat I can stealth like rogues and use some of their energy attacks. Pretty good DPS. Also cool.

And here's a cheetah that increases my movement speed. I love speed!

Here's when Alfaestus hit levl 70! I hit level 70 with this toon a lot faster, I did it in just above 11 days!

At level 68 I also got a flying form! That was awesome because I didn't have to wait until lvl 70! Of course I do have to wait until lvl 71 for an epic flying form (for the 280% speed increase), so I bought an epic flying mount when I hit lvl 70.

Tomeric my Night Elf Hunter and the first character I got to lvl 70.

These are all the toons I started with Tomeric in the fore. The hunter class was my preferred class because I could solo all the way to 70! That cat by him is his pet Therias. The pet helps Tomeric fight so it's like having two people to fight instead of just one! Not bad.

Here's what Tomeric looks like now.

He's got a better sword and dagger and bow after playing battlegrounds for honor points.

Check this little WoW movie I put together. (It's 17.9 MB.)

By level 40, if you have amassed enough gold (80g to learn to ride and 10g to buy the sabre cat), you can buy a mount! It increases your speed by 60%! Luckily, hunters get a cheetah aspect at level 20 so Tomeric had a 30% speed increase for a while before I could get my mount.

After about 10 game days (240 hours) I hit level 60! That was a pretty cool level but with the new Burning Crusade expansion, it wasn't the top level anymore. Shucks.

Here's what it looks like when you level up. I got this screen shot just in time (as opposed to my lvl 60 screen shot above!).

For a while I got to use this cool helm. In this shot I was testing a machine that blew you or threw you as a means of transportation. You landed quite softly. The gnomes in WoW are quite crafty. I stopped wearing it when I found a better one. Shame.

After playing the 60's I got enough gold to buy an epic mount! This one increases your speed by 100%! They're fast :o) and it costs 540g to learn to ride them and they cost 90g!

I finally hit level 70!

And here's how long it took! Not great, but not bad.

At level 70 you can buy a flying mount! You can fly anywhere in the new 60 to 70 area (only there, not in the 1-60 places). This little puppy cost 800g to learn to ride and 100g to buy. And I had the money by the time I hit 70 even after buying my epic mount! Of course, epic flying mount is next although I don't know how long it'll take me to earn 5,000g to learn to ride and 200g to buy!!

Here's Tomeric shooting his bow.

This crossbow is just a little better (does more damage).

This bow was given to me by one of my guild members and it's by far better than anything I had used before!

These are his new melee weapons. A sword and dagger for a quicker set of attacks. I'm still not sure which is better, a slow two-handed weapon that does tons of damage or two faster weapons that do a lot less damage each. It's easier to fight with the two weapons because then he's not waiting around to swing! But then again it seems to me, I'm not sure now, that the bad guys die faster with two-handed weapons that do more damage. In the end I kept using the two-handed sword cause I found one that does way too much damage to not use!

Here's a nice little Christmas scene :o) The WoW folks decorate for the holidays. Tomeric is in Shattrath City in the new lvl 58 to 70 Outland area.

So I started finally playing battlegrounds to earn honor points and marks of honor to buy better armor. I got some good end shots.

Alterac Valley kills.

Alterac Valley barely win.

Arathi Basin best win ever.

So I got some purple armor and now I look like this:

I also finally got an EPIC FLYING MOUNT!!!

And I got a cool Ram, which is an epic mount.

Other Alliance Characters:

This guy is a lvl 20 Human Rogue toon I started playing to try out a new class. It's pretty cool.

One cool thing Rogues can do is stealth. Night Elves can stealth but only to stand still, Rogues can move this way and sneak up on enemies!

Craeton is a lvl 25 Drenai Shaman. I like the Shaman class too, they cast spells and fight with totems to help them.

Craeton can turn into a ghost wolf to travel. He travels 40% faster in this state but can't fight while in wolf form.

I tried a warlock because they seem like fun. They can fear their enemies, whick sucks when you're the enemy. I only got Gorlathian to lvl 6. Maybe someday I'll play him some more.

I've also heard a lot about mages so I started this one. Another gnome. Gnomes are actually quite fun. Elvias is only at lvl 4 but so far he's been pretty fun. I don't think I can level this guy all the way up solo.
