Mr. González' Classes Homework
Week 7, 5/21 to 5/25
(This may change from day to day depending on how much we actually get done in class so check back often to make sure something wasn't changed at the last minute.)

Math, Course I (A Block)

Tuesday - Math placement test. This is one of the three determiners to show where students will be next year. A student's quarterly grades, whether they do their work, turn it in, and make it up on time, and their score on the Course I placement test will be used to determine whether students are ready for Course II.

No Homework.

Thursday - We will begin Chapter 10 today with lessons 10-1 and 10-2.

HW = Study Guides 10-1 and 10-2. There are also several students who have not made up their Ch 8 test or Ch 9 test. If those tests are not made up, students will fail fourth quarter.

Science 2 (B Block)

Tuesday - We are working on our Earth Movement project, which will culminate in an earthquake/volcano/plate tectonics website. There is really not much homework students can do, unless they need to catch up or want to study their topic further.

Thursday - Trading Post is today. Setup will begin at 10:25, businesses will open at 10:50am. Businesses will close at around noon.

Hope to see parents there!

Social Studies (C Block)

Monday - Trading Post groups will meet today to begin preparing for Thursday's event.

Students will continue working on their Early Canada websites.

HW = Get ready for Trading Post, plan and make whatever you need.

Wednesday - Decorations and final Trading Post preparations will be done today.

Friday - Today we will have a Project Alert lesson.

Students will continue working on the Early Canada project. We will be working on this project for the next few weeks, which will culminate in the Trading Post, (May 24) and the Early Canada website.

Science 3 (D Block)

Today was also election day! Ask your child who won.

Another important issue parents should be aware of is that 6th grade teachers are beginning to keep track of when students are not following directions. If students consistently do not follow directions, or do not take responsibility for school work, they will not be allowed to attend remaining 6th grade events (Trading Post, track and field, end of the year talent show and BBQ). A student would have to get many strikes to miss out on everything and we will let parents know once a student reaches three or four strikes. It is not fair for those many students who follow directions consistently and keep up with their schoolwork regularly. It's time for our 6th graders to take responsibility for their actions.
