Homework/Daily Activities
Week 1, 4/14 to 4/18
(This may change from day to day depending on how much we actually get done in class so check back often to make sure something wasn't changed at the last minute.)

6th Grade Science

Monday - Today we will begin the paper folding unit by Discovering the Reflection Law. This unit has nothing to do with Origami. What we will be doing is studying the math of folding paper especially when we go beyond the physical limitations of folding the paper.

All my plans are on hold, Solana Jolie, was born a little early, 9:01am on 4/14! I'll be taking a couple of weeks off to be with my family. Take care and email me (al_gonzalez@csd49.org) if you want any updates. I am very fortunate to have Mrs. Breithaupt taking over for me until I return.

 

8th Grade Computers 2

This week for 3rd quarter: Students will finish and score their final project websites. As soon as they are done, I will put them up for viewing on the Comp 2 website. The quarter official ends Tuesday the 15th, TAX DAY!

This will all wait until I return from Paternity Leave!

This week for 4th quarter is on hold until I return: Class intro PowerPoint presentation. Students will receive a class syllabus with a permission form on the other side. Parents must sign permission form and return by Wednesday. Then students will choose teams. To practice, students will choose temporary topics (final projects must be educational!). Students will create computer generated and hand-drawn art for their projects, then begin storyboarding their websites.

Creating websites is a great way to showcase work for an electronic portfolio. Chimacum High School will have students create portfolios, including electronic portfolios. If students have computer generated artwork for an electronic portfolio, they can burn it on a CD. Just have your child bring a blank CD to school (if a rewritable CD is used, then students can keep adding to it).

Plan for the week:
Wed - Intro to Comp 2 PowerPoint Presentation. Choose teams.

Thurs - In teams, choose a practice topic (can be anything at all, as long as it's school appropriate). Begin researching your topic using the Internet.

Fri - Show Inspiration so that students can use it to plan their practice website. Continue researching topic and getting notes and/or ideas.
