6th grade Science:

Monday - Today we will begin planning an experiment on the force exerted by a motor. Students will design their own experiments and write up their labs. Teams will manipulate different variables to see which combination of variables will lift the most washers. We will use inquiry boards to design the experiments.

HW - None

Tuesday - Today I will have a sub as I attend the last grades 6-12 Science team meeting of the year.

Students will finish designing and writing up their experiments. Then they will share their ideas on their blogs.

HW - None

Wednesday - Today I will be reading team’s procedures. Those that are ready can begin their experiments and collect data.

Thursday - Today teams will run their experiments to find out how many washers their motor can lift with their configuration. Some teams still need to finish their procedure.

HW - None

Friday - Today students finished collecting data by running their experiments again.

8th grade Science:

Monday - Today I will go over the answers to the Gliding Through Life questions (with 3rd period only), then students will have time to finish working on the Insect Adaptations questions.

Tuesday - Today I will have a sub as I attend the last grades 6-12 Science team meeting of the year.

The sub will go over the answers to the Insect Adaptations questions. Then students will research and share some facts about the Madagascar Hissing Cockroach including pictures (hopefully).

Then students will complete a cockroaches KW blog too if they haven’t already.

HW - None

Wednesday - Students need to finish yesterday’s blogs so that they can start observing the cockroaches up close.
