6th grade Science:

Monday - Today students will be graphing their data and writing their conclusions from last week to share with the class. Students will also be blogging what they learned about the motor and the different configurations for lifting washers.

HW - HW this week is for parents! Yeah, fun! I’ve put together a 13 question survey, should take only a few minutes to respond to all of them, for parents. I want to see what I’m doing well and what I need to improve. Thanks in advance for taking my survey.

Tuesday - Today we will work on the second part of the Lesson 7 Force of a Motor lab.

Wednesday - Today we will work on the Energy, Machines and Motion lesson 8 where students will learn about Work in the Scientific sense.

Thursday - Today we will finish the Lesson 8 lab where they will work with their motor to calculate how much work it can do.

Friday - Today we will have shortened periods so that we can spend the last hour or so of the day playing staff vs students volleyball!

Students will be learning about Power today (Lesson 9).

8th grade Science:

Monday - Today students will write their conclusions and share with the class. They will also reflect on how we naturally anthropomorphize animals (something to watch out for in biology).

HW - HW this week is for parents! Yeah, fun! I’ve put together a 13 question survey, should take only a few minutes to respond to all of them, for parents. I want to see what I’m doing well and what I need to improve. Thanks in advance for taking my survey.

Tuesday - Today students will finish their blogs and complete the final self assessment with the standards that we’ve been working with recently.

Wednesday - Today teams will start dissecting the specimens they chose to work on.

Thursday - Today teams will share what they learned with the class as we compare the specimens from simple to complex and marine vs terrestrial. Students focused on what structures in the animals are used to survival and adaptation in their environment.

Friday - Today we will have shortened periods so that we can spend the last hour or so of the day playing staff vs students volleyball!

Students will finish anything that they have left to do from this week.
