When the menu bar at the top of this page loads, the buttons will work. Some buttons you just click on while others will have submenus for you select from. This menu bar should appear on almost every page in my website. The entire menu will appear without having to scroll on 800 X 600 and 1024 X 768 resolution. Click the picture on the far left to email me. Oh, and if you ever want to come back to this page, for whatever reason, the only way to do that is go to the bottom of any page you're on and click on Home.

Decisions, Decisions on the Environment a Huge Success!

Each class struggled with differing points of view from an Environmentalist, an Economist, an Independent Scientist and a Campaign Manager while trying to solve a problem in a pretend town to win re-election as Mayor of that town! While Ms. Langston's class failed to get re-elected by a slim margin, Mr. Olafson's class got re-elected by a slim margin! And while Mr. Meacham's class did not win re-election, Ms. Cortez' class won re-election! It was very exciting!

Now we are going to end the year with a review of shapes and a study of bridges before the kids try to build their paper bridges! Then we will do a quick Tarantula WebQuest before we reflect on the year.

Here are the Space Day 2004 Class Winners

Here's what their certificates look like.

Design Challenge Proves to be a Real Challenge!

Even though the Space Day 2004 Design Challenges have ended and I even extended the deadline three days, many groups have yet to submit their final packets! We began the project on Tuesday, 4/13, and the deadline for the design challenges was Thursday, April 29 and Friday, April 30. Students were given Tuesday, May 4, and Wednesday, May 5 to complete their submission packets in class and get all their work in order. Click here to get your own copy of the packets.

Since the project is worth more than half of their overall grade for 4th quarter science, I am of course accepting them even if they are late. Find out how your child can finish this by emailing me.

The Space Travel Debates were great! The conclusion is that kids still have different opinions as to whether humanity should continue to explore space. Wow!

See picts of our newest classmates, Sheila and Bubbles (they are tarantulas)!
