I'm trying to find ways to encourage my students to write and reflect on what they are learning in Science class. Reflection is the best way for students to make sure they are learning the concepts. Writing can be done in ways that today's kids find exciting and valid for them. Since many kids use cell phones and mobile devices to write I am finding ways to have them do that for Science. If a kid would rather write on paper, that is fine, but I also have our class blog and now this. Students can text responses and reflections to this wiffiti wall. Reflection is a great way to learn but what makes 21st century learning even better is when students read each other's work and comment! Having a real audience, not just a teacher, is a great way to learn and see if what you are writing makes sense.

I do need to apologize for the advertisements that come along with some of the texting services I signed up for, but in order to keep them within my budget, free, the ads come with it. Even the widget I use for the online quizzes comes with ads. Bummer.
