Computers Level Two
Project 7
Creating a Logo
Pick a product you would like to sell or market. Now Pick a name for your company.
1. ClarisWorks Draw and Paint both will be used for the this project. In Draw
you create objects that can be moved around while in Paint you have more paint-
ing tools (Draw has 10 while Paint has 18 which gives you more room to get
really artistic), and there are no "objects" that can be moved as in Draw.
2. Open up a ClarisWorks Draw or Paint document (you will do the same thing in
both so just pick which one you want to start with first).
3. In ClarisWorks Draw or Paint, create a logo for your company. A logo is a
small graphic that represents your company and the product you sell (In project 1
you selected a product and chose a company name). Your logo needs to have:
a. Some kind of shapes or pattern that is unique (can't be something you saw
somewhere because logos are trademarked).
b. Use at least half of the Drawing tools available.
c. Use both the Fill tools and the Pen tools for sure if in Paint.
d. Make it colorful.
e. Don't forget to save often.
4. Using the broken line square tool, you can cut and paste only the parts of your
logo that you like or can use, as in the example below.
5. The last time you save, when in the Save Dialog box, under Save As
click on the black triangle and choose GIF. This means that you are
saving your image not as ClarisWorks document, but as a real picture.
