Project 10 - Web Page Design

1. Begin by visiting the one favorite (SCHOOL APPROPRIATE) website of each person in your group. Answer the following questions about your favorite websites.

a. What do I like about this site?

b. What works for this page with regards to color?

c. What are the graphics and/or sounds like? Any other fancy stuff?

d. What about content, how good is it? Is this why I like this site?

e. How fast does it load? Why?

2. As a group, you have been chosen to create a website for science on plate tectonics, earthquakes and volcanoes. This website will be used by the 8th grade science teacher to teach lessons.

3. On the back of this sheet, begin a rough sketch of how you want your site to look. Try and design all aspects of the page, including how the links will work and what graphics you will need. Each person in the group can sketch the page or pages s/he will specifically be responsible for. When you work on this project though, everyone in your team must be involved in the creation of the website. Time on task is what you will record on your time sheet. You will also be filling out another Team Planning Sheet so be prepared with ideas from this exercise.
