Block C (Day 2, 8:35 am - 10:25 am)
This year your child will be learning about Latin America and Canada.
Your child will gain a well rounded knowledge about the Western
Hemisphere of our planet, along with what s/he learned in the fifth grade
about the United States. While learning about the aforementioned cultures,
your child will be engaged in reading a text book to gain information,
increasing her/his vocabulary, working on individual and group projects,
typing reports on the computer, researching (using books, texts,
encyclopedia, newspapers, magazines, television, and the internet), and
culminate with a Latin American and Canadian market place day where all
the 6th graders will get to make food or hand-made artifacts that can be
sold and bought with class money. If you have expertise in any of these
areas please contact me and I'll schedule you to come in and do a
presentation.
