6th Grade Science
Monday -
Every class starts with
students filling out their planners and then doing a science opening
activity.
We will continue
with our study of the scienctific method with the following activities:
Analyzing Elements of a Scientific
Method, and
Performing an Experiment.
HW - Make sure
all paperwork gets turned in this week (ESPECIALLY CISPUS!).
Tuesday -
We will continue with our study

Performing an Experiment.
Today we will
begin our volcanology study
with an introductory PowerPoint presentation where students are
required to take notes.

6, p. 176, on Volcanoes website (this homework
is completely optional for extra credit).
Wednesday
- Students
will continue their note-taking for the volcanology
writing project.
HW - No assigned
Homework.
Thursday
- After my Intro to
Volcanoes PowerPoint, we will begin reading Ch
6, section 1, p. 176, on Volcanoes.
We will practice the SCAN
& RUN reading
strategy. Students
will choose team jobs
as well as Reading
jobs.
HW - Ask your
child what their homeroom teacher's plan is for brining in Cispus
gear.
Friday -
Today we practice the SCAN
part of the SCAN & RUN reading strategy. Students will
begin the RUN section the Monday after Cispus.
HW - Have your
child at school on time Monday and ready for Cispus with her/his
day pack and sack lunch.
