6th Grade Science
Monday -
Today students will continue
making Decisions on their simulation. We should be finished by
today or tomorrow.
(Decisions,
Decisions is a Tom Snyder
software production. I got a grant from Salute
to Educators to buy it!)
HW - None
Tuesday -
When classes finish the Decisions,
Decisions simulation, which should be today, we will begin a plate
tectonics project called Earth
Movement.
HW - Finish
any of the five worksheets and turn them in tomorrow! The five
worksheets are, the Decisions Log, Step 1: Analyzing the Situation,
Step 2: Determining the Goals, Step 3: Conider the Options,
and Evaluating the Simulation.
Wednesday
- I will begin our Plate Tectonic
unit with an intro to plate
tectonics PowerPoint presentation. (The presentation looks
a lot better in class. It doesn't look right as a website because
the background came out dark.)
HW - Do research
at home to bring any information in to the class to make your
project better.
Thursday
-Today students got
all their assignments and progress reports. Students learned which
assignments they need to make-up or redo. Any missing assignments
can be redone or made-up. If all assignments are turned in and
a student still wants more points, check out my extra
credit page.
Then I showed
students how to monitor earthquakes for the Earth
Movement project after each group chose which tectonic
plate they wanted to study.
Science
progress reports were handed out to all students today. For those
students who are getting a C- or less, another copy of the progress
report will be mailed out by next week.
HW - Do research
at home to bring any information in to the class to make your
project better.
Friday -
Today is an early release.
Students will be monitoring earthquakes today, recording them
and plotting them on a map.
HW - Have fun
this weekend!
