\"LaMotteSixth graders have some field trips coming up so I’m writing this to let parents know what to expect. Each 6th grader and each parent needs to fill out, sign and return two field trip permission slips to me.<\/font> Mr. Olafson’s class will be the first to go to the Hood Canal on Wednesday, April 18.<\/font><\/strong> They needed to have their field trip permission slips in to me by this past Friday, April 13.<\/font> Mr. Meacham’s class will go to the Hood Canal on Friday, April 20.<\/font><\/strong> They need to have their permission slips in by Monday, April 16, at the latest (all classes got their permission slips on Monday, April 9, so they could get them filled out signed, and returned quickly). I didn’t want students to have too much to worry about during WASL testing. Another problem is that I don’t see some classes are certain testing days and I don’t want to have to wait until the last minute and hold up the school bus for those who waited until the last minute to get their permission slips filled out and signed. We can’t afford to be late!<\/font> Ms. Langston’s class will be going to the Hood Canal on Wednesday, April 25<\/font><\/strong>, but I really would like to have all their permission slips turned in along with the other two classes. These field trips are all day field trips, we will leave campus at about 8am and get back by 2pm. Parents are welcome to come with their child. These field trips are being for by a Target Field trip grant<\/a> and a Learn and Serve America grant<\/a> that I received this year.<\/font><\/p>\n

The second permission slip will be coming home on Monday, April 16, and I purposely kept both permission slips a week apart so as to minimize confusion. The second field trip all 6th graders will go on together. It will be to plant trees with the help of the North Olympic Salmon Coalition (NOSC)<\/a> as part of their Chimacum Creek restoration projects. <\/font> This NOSC tree planting field trip will take place on Tuesday, April 24, from 11:45am to about 2pm.<\/font><\/strong> Parents are invited to come on this trip as well. This field trip is paid for by NOSC<\/a>.<\/font><\/p>\n

<\/font>Seventh graders have a wonderful field trip coming that the science teachers were able to plan thanks to a Target Field trip grant<\/a> that I won this year. More information will be coming home as we get closer to the day of the field trip (May 15).<\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
