I can’t imagine all the folks who had dozens or more stories saved. My concern was mostly for the blog posts I had written and embedded a Storify. For the past few years I have been attending the Northwest’s computer in education conference and I had been using Twitter to at the same time share my learning and have some notes of my learning. Curating those notes with Storify was convenient and gave me a place to have all my notes.

I heard of a couple of alternatives to Storify from Larry Ferlazzo and Richard Byrne that I saved on my Storify Diigo links. I didn’t take action until way later because I was too busy at the time but now I am finding Twitter’s Moments and Wakelet to be two awesome alternatives to Storify.

At this year’s NCCE 2018 conference I took my notes on Twitter as usual and then put them together using Twitter’s Moment feature. It was as easy to do as Storify and I embedded my moment on my NCCE 2018 post.

Just today, I checked out Wakelet after receiving an email from Wakelet to check it out. I wasn’t expecting to see a button that read, Import From Storify. I clicked on the button, connected to my Storify account, chose Import All and that was it. Minutes later I got an email that all my stories were imported. Maybe mine were faster because I only had 13 stories but it was automatic, which I appreciate.

So I went back through my blogs and replaced all my Storify stories with Wakelet. They were easy to embed and now look good such as my NCCE 2017 notes.

I don’t know which of the two I like better. For one thing, I haven’t created a Wakelet from scratch, all I’ve done so far is import existing stories but I like it. I love services that are intuitive and easy to use. Anything that saves me time is a winner in my book.

What have you used to replace Storify?

When I first heard that Storify was stopping its services I too was wondering what I would replace it with, and I only had 13 stories saved on Storify!
