I have wanted to attend a Serious Play conference<\/a> but have not been able to due to scheduling conflicts. Mainly, because I’m teaching and can’t swing the time off. So imagine my elation at being asked to be part of an amazing panel of educators talking about their esports programs! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bron Stuckey<\/a> from Australia, Global Minecraft Mentor and creator of GameChanger Girls<\/a>, invited me to be on an Esports Panel!! I am humbled and honored to be talking alongside Bron, Julie Mavrogeorge<\/a>, and James Fraser-Murison<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was like, “sure, Bron,” on the email but in real life I was like, “WHAT? ME? With all these incredible people!! AGGHHHH!” Then I saw the day and time and again I couldn’t attend! This year’s conference is happening during my last week of school. Even had I not already missed a whole entire week when I got COVID a few weeks ago there’s just no way I can miss a day this week, our last week of the year, with all that we have going on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bron didn’t miss a beat. She’s like, “can you pre-record you responses,” and I was like, “yes I can!” So even though I won’t actually be there, nor will I even be live on the Zoom, I at least get to participate as a panelist!! The session is titled, “MAKING ESPORTS OUR OWN: STORIES OF ACADEMIC ESPORTS,” and if you will be attending Serious Play this year we will be on tomorrow, Tuesday, June 14, at 4:15 pm EST (1:15 pm PST)<\/a>.
