Well, one of our high school teachers did just that and I am lucky as heck to get to work with her because she’s in my Science PLC. Our Biology and Chemistry teacher, Maren Johnson (@maren_johnson<\/a>) wrote a letter to our state superintendent of public instruction<\/a> explaining some glaring problems with the state’s plan for Science testing. She was able to follow through and here’s her testimony to the Washington State House Committee on Assessment (she will be speaking to the Senate on the same subject next week). Maren makes a great case and does Science proud! All I could say was, “AWESOME!” It’s so cool to see how one person can make a difference.
