Using Flash MX

Lesson 1

    1. Bitmap vs. Vector Graphics.
    2. The Timeline, Stage, Property Inspector, Tools and Panels.
    3. How to start a new document.
      1. On the timeline, select some frames, maybe 25. Then select Insert, Frames.
      2. Draw your figure and rename the layer by double-clicking where it says Layer 1.
      3. Click on the Insert Layer button (the one with the plus) to add a new layer. Add a new layer for every new thing you either draw or import.
      4. Insert Keyframes anywhere you want movement.
      5. Insert Create Motion Tween anywhere you want an object to move along a path to somewhere else.
      6. Between the last Frame and the new Keyframe make sure the X and Y positions have the same number (use the Info window to find the X and Y positions).
    4. How to save correctly (saving vs exporting a movie).

Lesson 2

    1. Exploring Layers (a separate layer for everything).
      1. Drawing on the stage.
    2. Importing Bitmap Images.
      1. Using pictures to move them and using pictures as backgrounds.
    3. Adding frames and keyframes.
    4. Adding Motion Tweens.
      1. Adding a motion guide to make curved motion.

Lesson 3

    1. Adding text.
      1. Changing font, size, color and style.
    2. Creating Buttons.
    3. Importing and adding sounds.
    4. Introduction to Action Scripting.
