Week 6, 12/13 to 12/17

(This may change from day to day depending on how much we actually get done in class so check back often to make sure something wasn't changed at the last minute.)

Progress Reports for the midterm will go home with students on Monday, December 13. Please go over them with your child to see if any work is missing or if any work can be made up. Thank you parents who are coming in late to pick up your children for STC certification testing. We will be having make-up testing this week on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I will send home a schedule so that you can see what day your child has. That will be your child's last chance to pass the six tests as this program ends this month.

Math

Monday - We will begin Investigation 3 with problem 3.1.
HW - ACE #16.
Tuesday - Problem 3.2.
HW - ACE #'s 1 - 9.
Wednesday - We worked on problem 3.2 but didn't finish because some groups didn't complete their part of the problem.
HW - None
Thursday - Market Day!
HW - None
Friday - Today we checked and corrected all the homework, ACE 1-9 and 16 (all the parts).
HW - None, have a great Winter Break! See you in two weeks!

Science

Monday - Students need to finish their lab write-up procedure.
Then students will continue to take notes on their specific, team topics from the websites I have found for them on my science webpage.
Students are also ready to start storyboarding their notes into the websites they will become. Students will use their notes and their storyboards to show the class what they have learned through a PowerPoint presentation.
HW - None

Friday - Today we scored all the lab write-ups! Students turned them in. By the time we come back I will return the lab write-ups so that students can correct them and resubmit them.

Language Arts

Monday - Students will work on their Market Day applications and also work on their country research.
HW - Prepare for Market Day by making your crafts and anything else you will need to have a great booth with your teammates.
Tuesday - Students will work on their Market Day applications and also work on their country research.

Wednesday - Finish Market Day applications and wrap up country research.

Thursday - Students filled out their Market Day evals and their Market Day debriefs.

Friday - Students will continue to work on their Cispus Websites.

Social Studies
Monday - Today Audrey from NOSC will visit our class to share with the BIBI results from the samples our bug group collected back in October. Our creek scored a 22 out of 50. Ask your child what that score means. (Every students should be able to carry on a discussion about our creek's score based on the classroom discussions we've had and especially after the one we had today with Audrey.)
HW - Prepare for Market Day by making your crafts and anything else you will need to have a great booth with your teammates.
Tuesday - Today we will have our weekly Second Step lesson.

Wednesday - Students will work on their booth posters today. Advertisers will implement their plans.

Thursday - Those who finished their Market Day evals and their Market Day debriefs worked on their Cispus websites.

Friday - Today is our library day! We will visit the library to return books and then we will be attending a concert by the 7th and 8th grade band.

Student Tech Corps - 1st period

Monday - Study for test if you are testing, otherwise, quiz those who are studying for the test.
HW - Prepare for the tests if you are taking them (that means read over your notes or take missing notes by asking me for the lessons you missed. You just need to memorize as much of the material as possible). This is your last chance to pass the tests and certify!
Tuesday - Study for test if you are testing, otherwise, quiz those who are studying for the test.
The rest of the class can work on making up any missing or low-scoring assignments.

Friday - We will have a post-Market Day auction. I brought in a bag full of items that I've been collecting to let students spend their Market Day earnings :o)
