Mr. González' Classes Homework/ Daily Activities Week 3, 2/14 to 2/18

Math Monday - We are starting Investigation 2 in Covering and Surrounding with problem 2.1. HW - ACE #'s 1-7, pp. 21 to 23. Tuesday - We will work on problem 2.1 and the follow-up. HW - ACE #'s 9 - 15, p. 24. Wednesday - We will finish problem 2.1 follow-up. HW - None Thursday - We will begin Investigation 3 with problem 3.1. I collected all the homework, ACE #'s 1-7 and 9-15. HW - ACE #'s 1-6, p. 32. Friday - Students will turn in their homework and finish problem problem 3.1 and the follow-up. I will be at a science conference on Using the Science WASL as a Powerful Classroom Assessment Tool and will have a substitute all day today. HW - None

Science Monday - Mrs. Meissner came in today to talk to my class (she visited every 6th grade classroom) to discuss behavior and all the problems we've been having. After Mrs. Meissner left, we continued to talk about the current problems and our commitment to being good ourselves and all earn our way on all the upcoming field trips and activities. HW - None Tuesday - Today we will work on the water quality websites. Check out the Hood Canal Youth Summit (we will be attending that on June 2 to participate in a water quality day of sharing with other schools). Language Arts Monday - I passed out progress reports so that students can start catching up and not fall behind so early in the quarter. Along with the progress report I also passed out my February Newsletter, the Hood Canal Youth Summit info sheet and the Hood Canal Photo Contest info sheet. HW - Memorize your part of The Highwayman tonight. And don't forget to keep track of your reading for your READING LOG due every Friday. Tuesday - Today students will begin reciting their parts of the poem we are studying. We will then hear Loreena Mckennit's version put to music. HW - None Wednesday - No Language Arts today due to the Early Release. HW - None Thursday - Today 6th graders will start a 13 week Project Alert program. This will happen every Thursday at this time. HW - None Friday - Sub today. Students will draw their section of The Highwayman to illustrate the tragic poem. HW - None

Social Studies Monday - We will correct the Mimi #2 and begin episode 3. HW - None Tuesday - We kept working on our language arts assignment as students recited their stanzas from memory. HW - None Wednesday - Today there will be no social studies due to the early release. HW - None Thursday - Correct Mimi #3 and begin Mimi #4. HW - None Friday - Sub today. Mimi #5. HW - None
