Monday - Today
we will continue to work on EMM lesson 4 testing to see how
long a flashlight will stay lit by charging the batteries
for different amounts of time.
If we have time today, we
will start the reading for this lesson on pages 30 to 35
(I will jigsaw those pages so that teams can read a small
part and summarize what they learned to the rest of the class).
The reading is about electric cars and using wind for power.
HW - None
Tuesday - Today
we will finish reading and summarizing pages 30 to 35 then
students will write
up their lab.
HW - None
Wednesday - I
gave students time to finish yesterday's EMM lesson 4 Lab
Write-Up because many goofed off and didn't get time to finish
(I really gave them more time today because students who
used their time wisely also needed more time). Sad thing
is that many students goofed off and socialized again, wasting
more of their classwork time. Oh well, no more chances.
Then we started EMM
lesson 5 (Introduction to Forces). Lab 5.1 dealt with
the elastic force of a rubber band (using a spring scale
to measure Newtons of force). We
couldn't get to lab 5.2 because students would not stop talking
long enough for me to finish one set of instructions. It's so frustrating.
HW - None
Thursday - No Project
Alert today because Heidi Dodd will be at a meeting.
We will continue working
on EMM 5.1. When students are done we will discuss what they
learned. Monday we will start EMM
Lab 5.2, which deals with gravitational force. Students
will design
their own experiment for 5.2 and then write -up the
lab using the lab
write-up worksheet that we used on lesson 4.
HW - None, students were
asking me all morning to find out their grades so I quickly
corrected all the papers I had during lunch and planning,
and a bit into 5th period, and managed to print out progress
reports for everyone.
Friday - SNOW
DAY - No School!
HW - None
