Math (2nd per)

Monday - No School today - Memorial Day.
HW - None
Tuesday - We were working on our Hood Canal Youth Summit posters all morning and didn't get to math today.
HW - I will not give homework today, but remind your child that he or she has homework every single night if he or she has missing assignments. Students were instructed to use their fifth week progress reports to cross off assignments as they are turned in to me. I will score the late assignments as soon as we're done with the Hood Canal Youth Summit.
Wednesday - We needed to use our math to finish getting ready for the Hood Canal Youth Summit.

Thursday - Hood Canal Youth Summit!

Friday - Today students shared what they did yesterday at the summit. Everyone had a great experience and participated in some wonderful learning experiences. My class did a great job presenting and sharing their data at the student breakout sessions! Good job!! :o)

Future plans: We will work on Investigation 4 this week. My first priority is to get my students ready for the Hood Canal Youth Summit so we might use math time to get ready for that.

Social Studies (3rd per)

Monday - No School today - Memorial Day.
HW - None
Tuesday - We need to use this time to prepare for the Hood Canal Youth Summit this Thursday. Students need to make their posters and practice their presentations.
HW - None
Wednesday - Tomorrow is the summit!! We'll make any last minute preparations today.

Friday - Students had a chance to report on the different morning session classes they attended as well as on the afternoon breakout sessions!

Science (5th per)

Monday - No School today - Memorial Day.
HW - None
Tuesday - Today we will work on EMM lesson 9.
HW - None
Wednesday - Today teams will complete their reading for EMM lessons 8, 9 and 10. Each team will teach the class their topic as we did before.

Thursday - Hood Canal Youth Summit!
HW - None
Friday - Teams will finish teaching their reading sections today. Then we started EMM Lesson 9.
HW - None

Future plans: Let's see if we can't get through lesson 9 and then complete lesson 10. Lesson 10 is the assessment lesson for the first unit on Energy.

Language Arts (6th per)

We are still blocking these two periods and combining Language Arts with Science.
Reading logs are still due every Friday, which means that all students are still expected to read daily at home for a minimum of 15 to 20 minutes. I give students a copy of the Reading log every Monday or at the latest Tuesday.
