Mr. González' Classes Homework/ Daily Activities Week 7, 10/17 to 10/21

Social Studies: Monday - We will review and continue to practice our Cooperative Team Jobs. Then we will continue to work on our Aztec, Maya, and Inca Webquest. Finally, I will read a días de los muertos book to my students as we begin to study this quickly approaching Latin American holiday. I will ask my 5/6 block to prepare to leave some items for a geocache. We'll hide them tomorrow. HW - Show your parents your progress report and have them fill out the parent survey and read my first class newsletter. Return the survey to Mr. González tomorrow for an extra $25 in class money! Wednesday - Today, my morning class will go out and find the geocaches the afternoon class set up for them, they might also set the fish traps today if we get a big enough, clear jar. The geocaching this morning went very well. We didn't get a jar, so we won't be setting the fish traps this week. We took some time to work on the Aztec, Maya, and Inca Webquest. Then I read a little more from my Day of the Dead book. Second Step with Marilyn Sterbick during 5th period for both classes together. HW - None Friday - I will be having a substitute today as well (busy month for me) as I attend a science training on leadership and work with my lesson study team as we prepare our lesson for the first teacher to try it out. Students will continue to work on their Aztec, Maya, and Inca Webquest. The sub may also continue read from where I left off in the Day of the Dead book. HW - None Future plans: We will continue to work on our Aztec, Maya, and Inca Webquest while at the same time start preparing for our Days of the Dead study. After we are done with the ancient cultures and with the Days of the Dead we will begin to prepare for Market Day.

Science: Tuesday - We will continue to work on our Volcanology Project. We are also planning to start helping NOSC by trapping fish along our stretch of the Chimacum Creek. We might start that today. My morning class will do the traps this week because today my afternoon class will be setting up their waypoints for their geocaches. The geocaches are set. We didn't set the fish traps today because I need a big, clear jar. We use the jar to put the fish in so that we can identify them without hurting them. HW - None Thursday - We will continue to work on our Volcanology Project as well as review and practice our Cooperative Team Jobs. HW - None Future plans: We will keep plugging away at our Volcanology project while starting our Earth Movement project.
