Mr. González' Classes Homework/ Daily Activities Week 13, 11/28 to 12/2

Social Studies: Tuesday - We will continue to work on our Latin American project. Teams will continue to get their fact sheets completed for their individual countries. HW - None (unless your child wants to start preparing for Market Day). Wednesday - We will be doing Social Studies two days in a row this week. Today we will have our end of the month awards asembly so we will be on assembly schedule. We will also have Second Step today during 5th period. We will continue to work on our Latin American project. A few teams are wrapping up Phase 1 and are beginning Phase 2 of the project (country reports and projects!). HW - None Future plans: We are busy working on our study of Latin America in preparation for Market Day!

Science: Monday - Today we will correct the EMM Lesson 1 student sheets. We will also conduct a quick experiment to practice manipulating and controlling variables (I will be using Inquiry Boards to help students learn the scientific method). HW - Today I am sending home a few different sheets. I am sending home my November Newsletter with a Market Day explanation letter on the back side. I'm also sending home another, updated progress report. I am also sending home a permission slip for an upcoming field trip (Dec 8 from 12:45 to 2pm - if any parent wants to volunteer to come please let me know - the field trip will be to help NOSC plant trees along Chimacum Creek). Thursday - Today is the last day of the trimester! All late and make-up work needs to be turned in by today! We will be working on EMM Lesson 2 (this one is one of my most favorite lessons in this kit! Kids will be making their own batteries!). HW - None Friday - No school today - Trimester Break! HW - None Future plans: Next week we will work on a different part of Physical Science using a Yo-yo unit I found on the Internet. It's a lot of fun!
