Monday - Today
we will try to complete EMM
Lesson 8. The formula we are working with is Fd=W,
where F = force in newtons, d = distance in meters, and
W=work in Newton-meters or Joules.
We will also look at EMM
Lesson 9 and find out how to calculate Power! We don't
have time to actually do lesson 9 but I did introduce to students
that Power (Watts) = Work (N-m or Joules)/Time (s). So a 60 Watt
light bulb puts out 60 Joules of energy every second!
HW - Remember that I am
available everyday at lunch for all students to make up
and/or finish any of the EMM
Lessons (especially all the
parts of Lesson 7 because a lot of students didn't turn
it in when I collected it). Remember also that the EMM
Student Website is pretty good for extra credit on any of
our EMM
Lessons.
Thursday - Today
we will begin Lesson
10, which is
the unit 1 assessment.
Today we got through part
1 of this 3 part test. Today's part was the fun because
students were being assessed on a lab they did together.

Student Website is pretty good for extra credit on
any of our EMM
Lessons.
Friday - Today
we finished our unit assessment, EMM
Lesson 10. This will
conclude our work with the Energy,
Machines, and Motion kit.
Students were able to complete
parts 2 and 3. Part 2 assessed students on how well they
graphed and analyzed data from an experiment. Part 3 was
a multiple choice and short answer test. Students worked
very hard on this two-day test!

Have a great weekend!
