HW/Daily Activities

(This may change from day to day depending on how much we actually get done in class so check back often to make sure something wasn't changed at the last minute.)

This is midterm week. I will be handing out progress reports on Monday (the deadline to give students progress reports was extended to Friday so for those students getting a C- or worse, they won't be mailed home until next week).

3rd per - 9:37am to 10:29am
Eagle Time: 10:33am to 11:00am
Lunch - 11:00am to 11:32am
4th per - 11:36am to 12:28pm
5th per - 12:32pm to 1:24pm
6th per - 1:28pm to 2:20pm

6th grade Science:

Monday - Progress Reports were handed out today to all my science students.
We need to finish correcting the lesson 3 questions, p 23.
Then we will begin learning about energy transfer diagrams. This will help students see the energy transfers we are studying in our EMM unit.
HW - Take home and show parents your progress report. If your parent signs it and you show me, you'll get an extra $20 class money!
There is also an Energy, Machines, and Motion website but I haven't assigned anything from there yet.
Tuesday - We will continue learning about energy transfer diagrams.
Then we need to correct the EMM lesson 2 questions.
HW - Same as Monday.
Wednesday - We need to finish the EMM lesson 3 reading. Then we will start EMM lesson 4 today.
HW - Same as Monday.
Thursday - We will be working on EMM lesson 4 today.
HW - None
Friday - We're still working on EMM lesson 4. Today we collect our data and began to graph it.
HW - None

7th grade Science:

Monday - Progress reports were handed out today to all students in this class.
We will wrap up the measurement lab.
Then we will begin the collecting and interpreting evidence lab.
HW - None
Tuesday - We will continue to work on the collecting and interpreting evidence lab.
HW - None
Wednesday - We will finish working on the collecting and interpreting evidence lab.
HW - None
Thursday - Today we will continue working on our lab because students had some trouble yesterday calculating the densities of some cubes. They need more practice.
They did it! Every team got much more precise measurements today!! Good work :o)
HW - None
Friday - Today students will answer some summarizing questions about the measurement lab and collecting and interpreting evidence lab. Those summarizing questions will serve as our pre-test for me to gauge how well my 7th graders understand density.
Once they were done with their quiz I gave each table or team one of the questions and asked them to whiteboard the answer so they could share with the whole class on Monday.
