Week 10, 2/19 to 2/23

(This may change from day to day depending on how much we actually get done in class so check back often to make sure something wasn't changed at the last minute.)

1st per -7:35am to 8:37am

5th per - 12:32pm to 1:24pm

6th grade Science:

Monday - President's Day - No School

HW - None

Tuesday - Today a few teams still need to finish EMM lesson 13, Inquiry 13.1. Then we will start Inquiry 13.2.

HW - None

Wednesday - Today we will try to finish EMM lesson 13 including the reflection questions.

HW - None

Thursday - Today is the 6th grade Ice Skating and Ballard Locks field trip. I will be staying behind to work with my 7th and 8th graders.

HW - None

Friday - We need to finish EMM lesson 13.

7th grade Science:

Monday - President's Day - No School

HW - None

Tuesday - Check Earthquake site for new earthquakes.

Then students will meet in their job groups. Students are making observations and trying to find plate boundaries. Each job specialty is defining plate boundaries with their own symbols and descriptions.

HW - None

Wednesday - Check Earthquake site for new earthquakes.

Today students worked in their smaller plate groups to look over and make observations of their earthquake data. I also gave them a map with earthquake data from 1990 to 1996.

HW - None

Thursday - Check Earthquake site for new earthquakes.

Finish making earthquake observations and finish making symbols for earthquake plate boundary types.

Students will then share what they learned in the other three jobs (volcanologist, geologist, and geochronologist).

HW - Kids are losing their packets and I didn't make any extras because it was a lot of paper just making each kid one packet. So what I've done is put all the handouts on the Earth Science webpage and the Earth Movement webpage.

Friday - Today students will begin to compare where they think the plate boundaries for their region of the earth. They will begin to define team plate boundaries for their region that they will share with the rest of the class. Together all the teams will create all the plate boundaries on the Earth.

8th grade Computers:

Monday - President's Day - No School

Tuesday - Dreamweaver lessons continued.

Wednesday - Dreamweaver lessons continued. This is the last one where I show students how to put YouTube videos on their own webpages!

Thursday - Now that the lessons are all done it is up to students to complete their website before the Tri is over. During the last week or two I will upload their completed sites to the web!

Friday - Work on your website. Completed Webs will be posted here when done (by the end of the Trimester).
