6th grade Science:

Monday - Today we are going to start our testing of Chimacum Creek! All teams are trained and ready to do their jobs!
Today will mainly focus on those teams using probes. They will do what they need to do down at the creek and some even in the water.
HW - None
Tuesday - Today we will finish testing Chimacum Creek.
Today it should mainly be for those groups who need to run chemical tests. They can do those in class with the samples they collected yesterday.

Wednesday - Today we will continue to work on learning how to take Cornell notes.
HW - None
Thursday - We worked on our Cornell notes lessons today and teams who are done with Ch 12, section 1 can begin taking notes on the websites that pertain to their areas of expertise!

Friday - Teams will continue to take Cornell notes notes on their websites or finish Ch 12, section 1.
I was on my 7th grade field trip to the mouth of Chimacum Creek today during 1st and 2nd periods only. I was here during period 6 so we worked on our Cornell notes practice.

7th grade Science:

Monday - This week students will continue working with their teams on their plant identification online field guides. Students took pictures of and identified plants in this area and this week they will be finishing their websites for this HP grant project. Here are the requirements for their websites.

Tuesday - Same as Monday.

Wednesday - Same as Monday.

Thursday - I'm thinking that today is a good deadline for the website up to this point. Next week students will have more time to add any new information they get at tomorrow's field trip.

Friday - Today we will attempt our field trip one more time. Let's hope today is as nice as last Friday.
Yes! It was gorgeous and we had a wonderful time at our field trip! Here's the plan we started with (we never rotated because were doing so great with their first tasks that time flew!).
Back in class students worked on their websites and we uploaded the new pictures. Some found new plants to add to their websites.
