Mr. González's Classes Homework/ Daily Activities Week 11, 3/1 to 3/5

6th grade Science: Monday - This week student teams are copying and pasting their water quality job notes onto the wikis. Students will also add the water quality photos their class photographer took when we did the testing at the creek. By the end of the week, if teams are ready, we can start editing the footage the class videographer shot to put that on the wikis. Click here to see the rubric each class created to complete their wiki (it's a Word document file). HW - None, unless they want to work on their wiki from home. They know how to do that. Tuesday - Today is an early release and I will have my 1st and 3rd period classes today. They will continue to work on their water quality wikis. HW - None Wednesday - Today is another early release day and my 6th period class will be working on their water quality wikis. HW - None Thursday - Student teams are working at pasting and typing all their information onto their wikis. Then they will put the pictures that their photographers took onto their wikis as well. The goal is to finish by tomorrow so that we can start editing the videographer footage next week. HW - None Friday - Finish pasting and typing info onto your wiki and finish putting pictures on your wiki. HW - None

7/8 grade Science: Monday - Today students will finish writing their plate tectonic blogs sharing what they've learned. In light of the Haiti 7.0M earthquake and Saturday's Chile 8.8M earthquake I made a different assignment to have kids blog about what we're learning and tie it to what's going on in the world right now. I'm having students learn about either the Haiti earthquake, the Chile earthquake or the tsunami that resulted from the Chile earthquake so they could blog about those topics. HW - None Tuesday - Today is an early release and I don't have either of my 7/8 Earth Science classes today. HW - None Wednesday - Today is an early release and I will see both my 2nd and 4th period classes. Students will continue to write about plate tectonics, and/or the Haiti or Chile earthquake and tsunami. Students will then read each other's blogs to leave comments. HW - None Thursday - Students are still reading about the earthquakes and writing their blogs and commenting on each other's work. I'm adding a link to the latest earthquake in Taiwan! HW - None Friday - Today students worked on reading each other's blogs and leaving comments. Everyone did a great job on this activity. HW - None
