Mr. González's Classes Daily Activities Week 1, 3/22 to 3/26

6th grade Science: Monday - Today students will put their glogs on their blogs. Then they can start leaving comments on our blog pals blogs to point other students to their Water Quality Wikis! HW - Show your parents your 2nd trimester final grades and have them read the new grading policy letter and the list of standards for this tri. See my blog for more info. Tuesday - Today students will read each other's wikis and leave comments on each other's blogs. Students in 1st period will read their counterpart's wiki (G1 will read G1 and so forth) in 3rd period, 3rd per will read 6th per, and 6th per will read 1st per. I will be at a Science meeting all day so I will have a sub. HW - None Wednesday - Today students finished commenting on their counterpart's blogs. Then they worked on their water quality glogs. HW - None Thursday - Today students will finish their glogs and put them on their blogs. Then they will visit other student's blogs in other schools to leave them comments on their blogs. HW - None Friday - Today students will finish whatever they didn't finish yesterday. Then they will setup their new notebook by adding a table of contents and a new copy of the lab safety contract. Then students will decorate their notebooks by drawing their ideas of energy. We will then look at the Energy, Machines and Motion textbooks to see the lab we will do tomorrow. HW - None

7/8 grade Science: Monday - Today students will finish the epicenter and earthquake simulations. Then students will read about earthquakes as we go over the answers to the energy of earthquake waves packet questions. HW - Show your parents your 2nd trimester final grades and have them read the new grading policy letter and the list of standards for this tri. See my blog for more info. Tuesday - Today students will play an Earth and Physical Science game. I will be at a Science meeting all day so I will have a sub. HW - None Wednesday - Today students finished the energy of earthquake waves packet question 10 by completing the epicenter simulation. Then students completed the earthquake simulation. Then students read the about earthquakes website. Teams who were done with all of the above began their earthquake blog assignment. HW - None Thursday - Today students will finish anything they didn't get to yesterday. It would be great if all students could finish everything including their earthquake blogs so they can comment other student's blogs. HW - None Friday - Today students will finish what they didn't finish yesterday (4th period is a little behind 2nd period so they migtht need more time). I also have copies of some handouts for students to setup their new notebooks by adding a table of contents and a new copy of the lab safety contract. Then we will brainstorm what students want to learn about volcanoes so that I can prep that. HW - None
