Monday - Today students will check their blogs again to make sure their work was read by their peer reviewer. Then students will begin learning about salmon through the following webquest.
I showed students how to use the program DraftBuilder to help them organize an outline web to use in ReadOutLoud. They can then put the information in the right places to be able to write their final products in WriteOutLoud. With CoWriter these four programs make great assets to help students organize, research, and write reports and papers and articles for any subject. Because our district bought the software I can copy to a flash drive for any family to use at home on a Mac or a PC. Just send your child with a flash drive and have him or her ask me for Solo to use at home.

Tuesday - Today students will continue to work on the Salmon Webquest.
I reviewed how to use DraftBuilder to start organizing the topics. Then I showed students how to open their outline in ReadOutLoud to start moving the information from the websites into the correct sub topics for each stage of the salmon's life cycle. I also showed how to then use WriteOutLoud to start writing their first draft.
