The
$5,620 from Year 7 (2009-2010) will be spent
on the
following:
Here's the plan as written in
my grant proposal for year 1:
This year we need more Vernier handheld LabQuest devices that the probes and sensors connect to gather data on our creek. Buying 5 of those will make it so that every team of students in each of my classes can use one. That will make taking the whole class down to the creek much more manageable since every child will be engaged.
We also need replacement probes we will need to conduct the dissolved oxygen, pH, temperature, turbidity, and flow rate tests, and we need new probes to conduct nitrates and phosphates tests. This way we will eliminate the need for the water quality chemical testing kits and we will be able to run more tests, more often thereby collecting data in days that we can look at instead of just getting one set of data per year. There will be enough probes for each pair of students to be responsible for two to three water quality testing parameters.
