Peltoperlidae
(Roachflies)

Peltoperlids resemble tiny roaches, with flattened teardrop-shaped bodies, heads hidden from above by the wide plates of their thorax, and very short tails. Roachflies are all sensitive to disturbance and require cold water and moderate flow year-round. They feed on leaf litter and moss, and they frequent springs and mosses of streams.
