First pair of antennae longer than the second;
very similar to Gammarus (eyes present; extra filament with several segments on antennae; hind end with deep indentation); however, the tiny spines on top of the last 3 segments are in two bunches of 4 (one bunch on either side)

 
       
  Stygobromus (family Crangonyctidae)
First pair of antennae longer than second; eyes never present; the extra filament near the base of the first pair of antennae is never more than 2 segments; the plate on the hind end is either not indented at all or only has a shallow indentation at the end
