Mr. González' Classes Homework/ Daily Activities Week 4, 9/26 to 9/30

Social Studies: Tuesday - I will collect Mrs. Meissner's homework assignment today. We will spend some more time reviewing classroom procedures so that we can ensure everyone's right to learn. Today we will complete Map Activities #'s 3 & 4 (my afternoon class didn't even complete #3, no one was on task enough to even finish the sheet in the time I provided but my morning class was able to finish both #3 and #4). I have a group activity checklist that I will give groups so that they can manage themselves. The checklist asks teams to rate their overall performance on taking turns sharing, listening, being respectful of each other, and getting the work done! It's fantastic. Sorry that I don't have a link to it here but I didn't create it so I don't have the right to post it on my website. HW - The principal's homework if you have not yet turned it in. Thursday - Today we will complete the next Map Activities. My morning class will start with activity #5 while my afternoon class will start with activity #3. HW - Many students have still not turned in Mrs. Meissner's homework. I keep asking for it everyday. Future plans: After we are done studying maps through our South America deskmaps, we will begin learning about Mesoamerica's ancient cultures.

Science: Monday - We are going to start today by talking about our Cispus experience. I also shared some of the pictures I took last week. Then we will go over the homework that Mrs. Meissner gave to students the week before we left for Cispus. I have a lesson given to us from Mrs. Meissner to do today. Please ask your child about it. We spent most of the block working through today's lesson on the A, B, C and D classrooms. Ask your child to explain those concepts to you. HW - Write a letter to your parents or draw them a picture about what you learned today. How will you, together with your parents, help us to create a bully-free school? The kids were also taught to Document, document, document! Who did it? What did they do? Where did it happen? When did it happen? Who else was in the area?   Wednesday - We are going to watch another Mt. Saint Helens video showing the destruction caused in May of 1980. If we have time we will also work on our Mt. Saint Helens activity. (My afternoon class didn't have time to work on the Mt. Saint Helens activity.) HW - I still need many students to turn in the principal's homework assignment on bullying. Friday - I will have a subtitute today because I will be at a meeting in Keyport at the Naval Undersea Museum. I am going to meet with my lesson study team as we plan a lesson for our science classes. Students will continue to study Mount Saint Helens through a few online activities I have setup for them. Click here for the links to those activities. HW - None Future plans: We are going to review the destruction caused by Mt. Saint Helens so that we may study Mt. Rainier and predict the what might happen if it erupts soon.
