HW/Daily Activities

Daily Schedule
1st per - Exploratory - 7:45am to 8:37am
1st Block (Periods 2 & 3) - Science and/or Social Studies - 8:41am to 10:29am
Eagle Time: 10:33am to 11:00am
Lunch - 11:00am to 11:32am
4th per - Band/Choir - 11:36am to 12:28pm
2nd Block (Periods 5 & 6) - Science and/or Social Studies - 12:32pm to 2:20pm

Social Studies:

Wednesday - Second Step today (5th period).
Today students will continue to work on Phase 2 of their Latin American project. I'm thinking that we should be ready to present the Phase 2 projects and reports by next week. I will have teams start presenting on Wednesday, January 18. Then we will continue having teams present on Monday, January 23, and Wednesday, January 25, until all teams are done.
Those who are done with Phase 2 can start working on Phase 3. Today I showed students how to use Microsoft Word to create their one-page ad and they all got some time to practice.
HW - Homework will depend. Students who got a progress report last week because they are missing assignments need to make those up and turn them in this week. Those who haven't gotten their Blog Letters signed by parents need to do that. Then students need to write an article (online if you got permission, on paper if you did not) and respond to someone else's once they start publishing their articles. Students can start a new wiki page at any time as well.
Friday - Today I will have a sub so that I can attend another science training on Notebooking in Science and Assessment. I will also meet with my lesson study team to plan the next lesson.
Students will continue to work on Phases 2 and 3 of the Latin American project (they can also add info to their Wikis). I also have some Mayan glyph handouts that students can color if they have time.
HW - None

Science:

Monday - Today we will finish EMM Lesson 4. Then I will give students time to work on their Energy, Machines, and Motion Wiki.
HW - Same as Wednesday. Another resource is the EMM Student Website. Check it out.
Tuesday - Today we will work on EMM Lesson 5. We got through Inquiry 5.1. Students received a handout for Inquiry 5.1. I also collected student sheet 2.1 and student sheet 4.1 plus all the notes students took for lessons 3 and 4. If you did not hand those in, please get them to me as soon as possible!
HW - Same as Wednesday. Another resource is the EMM Student Website. Check it out.
Thursday - Today we will finish EMM Lesson 5. If we have time students can work on their Energy, Machines, and Motion Wiki.
HW - Same as Tuesday & Wednesday.
