Week 2, 12/11 to 12/15

(This may change from day to day depending on how much we actually get done in class so check back often to make sure something wasn't changed at the last minute.)

On Monday, Dec 11, I passed out final grade progress reports to all my science students (I don't see my 1st trimester 8th graders anymore so they didn't get one). Report cards were mailed home on Friday, Dec 15.

Daily Schedule
1st per -7:35am to 8:37am
2nd per- 8:41am to 9:33am
3rd per - 9:37am to 10:29am
Eagle Time: 10:33am to 11:00am
Lunch - 11:00am to 11:32am
4th per - 11:36am to 12:28pm
5th per - 12:32pm to 1:24pm
6th per - 1:28pm to 2:20pm

6th grade Science:

Monday - We will continue to work on EMM lesson 7. Today we will work on the step-by-step procedure using the Inquiry Boards.
HW - Show your parents your final grade progress report. Bring it back signed and get $20 class money!
Tuesday - Today I had a sub to conduct the second part of my lesson study. Students watched a Bill Nye video on the repeatability of experiments (which is exactly what we've been talking about with writing up a good procedure!). Students had to take notes.
If they finished early, students were to make sure everyone in their tables had their procedure up to date and accurate.
HW - None
Wednesday - Today we will go over our procedures and begin our lab to see how many washers we can make our little motor lift.
HW - None
Thursday - Today I won't see 1st and 2nd period due to Market Day. I will 4th period so that they can complete their EMM lesson 7 lab.
HW - None
Friday - No School today due to adverse weather conditions.
HW - None, have a great Winter Break!

7th grade Science:

Monday - Students voted today to complete the Sink or Float webquest in its entirety, which means they will create the projects (see End Products)!
HW - Show your parents your final grade progress report. Bring it back signed and get five extra credit points for 2nd tri!
Tuesday - Today we began working on the research phase of our Sink or Float webquest.
I had a sub today so that I could work on the second part of my lesson study.
HW - None
Wednesday - Students will continue to take notes for their Sink or Float webquest as they answer the questions which will be the topic for their final project products.
HW - None
Thursday - Students will continue to take notes for their Sink or Float webquest as they answer the questions which will be the topic for their final project products.
Students are expected to take notes on what they learned from each of the excellent websites. They must take more complete and detailed notes on the websites that pertain to the topic on which they will be doing their final project.
HW - None
Friday - No School today due to adverse weather conditions.
HW - None, have a great Winter Break!

8th grade Computers:

Monday - Today we started off by blogging a bit in class. Each student created an about me article and we visited our blog pal's blogs from New Jersey, New Zealand, and Canada.
Then I continued with our Fireworks lessons.
HW - Get your Permission to Publish form signed and your Blog perimssion. Also read and sign your Blogger's Contract. And use your How to Blog instructions to start blogging at home!
Tuesday - I had a sub today so that I could work on the second part of my lesson study. Students were supposed to work on their Fireworks drawings and if they had time, they could blog.
I didn't get good news from the sub about several of my boys. They chose not to work and lied about not being able to work while their partner was on the computer. That is completely false. If they don't work with their partners they get a zero for the day. And no one submitted any blog articles. Hmmm.
