Monday - We
should be ready to start EMM lesson
8 this week. Lesson 8 will teach students the scientific definition
of work and how to calculate work multiplying Force times Distance
to get Work in Newton-meters (Joules).
HW - None
Tuesday - Today
we will continue to work on EMM lesson
8. Today students will practice calculating work. They
will also use data previously collected in lesson 6 to determine
how much work was done.
HW - None
Wednesday - Today
we will complete the EMM lesson
8 reading as students conduct a lab to measure
and calculate how much Work our motors can do. The formula
we are working
with is Fd=W, where F = force in Newtons, d = distance in meters,
and W=work in Newton-meters or Joules.
HW - None
Thursday - Today
we worked some more on EMM lesson
8. I helped students understand the questions in the book
and we started the reflection questions. Since our test is scheduled
for next Wednesday and Thursday, and I have a sub on Friday we
have to move on to lesson 9 tomorrow.
HW - None
Friday - We
will start EMM lesson
9 today. In lesson 9 students will learn how to calculate
Power (Power measured in Watts, which = Work in N-m or Joules
per time in seconds, so a 60 Watt light bulb puts out 60 Joules
of energy
every second)!
HW - None, unless students
want to study for their test next week! The EMM
Student website might
help since you don't have access to your notebooks or textbooks.
