8th Grade Web Design Final Project Guidelines You have the remainder of the quarter to create your website project! Requirements: 1) Your storyboard needs to be done, scored by your team, and checked with me. 2) You need to have some well-written, well-researched, well-thought out content. In other words, your website has to have information for those who visit and/or use it. 3) Your website will need at least six to 10 pages but can have up to 15 or 20 pages (the html pages, not images!). Feel free to do more if you have the time. 4) You need to have images that relate to your topic that you find on the Internet. 5) You need to have images, pictures, diagrams, drawings, etc that someone or everyone on the team created. This can be on paper to scan or this can be done using Fireworks or Flash. 6) You need to show that you used Fireworks to resize images successfully (this can be done by using thumbnails). 7) You need a bibliography OR a links page. Both pages need links to all the websites you used for information and for pictures. You also need to cite any books or magazines you used (consider http://www.noodletools.com/quickcite/). 8) Every picture you found on another website needs to be a link back to where you found it and credit needs to be given right on the page you have the picture (give it a caption). 9) You need to have a Fireworks animation somewhere in your website. This can be fancy or very basic (but it should have a reason for being in your website and it should look good). 10) You will need a Flash movie somewhere in your website. This could be a game or fun page. This could also be in the form of an introductory page. If you choose to make it introductory, give people the chance to go straight to your site and tell them how big the Flash file is so they can bypass it. 11) You will need to work with your team everyday and for the entire quarter. If you feel that you finished your website before the quarter is over, discuss other topics you can work on or look for more information that you can add. Make more pages. OR make more artwork with Fireworks and Flash (learn things I did not teach). 12) On the other hand, if you feel that you have chosen a topic that is too big and you might not finish in a quarter, consider trimming it down. 13) Your website needs to be uploaded to the web (you will learn this around week 6 or 7). 14) Your team needs to score the website before they submit it to Mr. González (it needs to be scored online only). Plan to score your website during the tenth and final week of this quarter. Mr. González |
