For the 2021 Martin Luther King, Jr Day LA Works hosted a virtual tour of Washington DC during Dr. King’s 1963 march on the capitol in Minecraft Java Edition. The world built by Mike Washburn (@misterwashburn) and Becky Lattof (@STEAMcultivator) is amazing! I wrote about the tour and shared the tour on this blog post.
As of the end of June the world is open to the public!
YOU’RE INVITED!
— Mike Washburn (@misterwashburn) June 25, 2021
There has been a HUGE demand to open a version of the @LAWorksNow #MLKDay @Minecraft experience that is always on and persistent.
We’re almost ready! If you can see this, you’re invited to join us on the server to look around and explore during our BETA Test. pic.twitter.com/fRm8zWazBv
The world is available here (click here to open the link in a new tab).
Watch the following video if you are not sure how to access this world with a Minecraft Java Edition account:
This world is worth re-visiting in class to give your students the virtual tour and to learn from all the NPC characters because, yes, you can click on each and every character there and learn something about each and every one of them! If your students have Minecraft Java accounts, then let them explore Washington DC on their own! So cool!
