Progress reports will be passed out to all students on Monday, May 14. Remember that anything on the progress report can be made up for a better grade. I warned all my 6th grade students that it was easy to get a passing midterm grade this trimester, but I cautioned them against getting too comfortable. The culminating project/final test is in the form of websites and that those websites are worth a lot more than all the notes they’ve been taking so far. The notes they’ve been taking are to be used to make their websites informative and accurate. If students take a long time to complete their websites, as they have been doing with regard to their notes, they will end up with a low overall grade in science. After June 21 it I cannot give them more time (and they all agreed that they won’t want to take more time after that to complete their work).
