A
block ends with Second
Step,
B block begins with Second
Step.
We will
begin today by scoring
the final drafts in B block. Students need to
practice scoring with rubrics
so that they will understand the entire process
and become better writers.
Today
students will begin to prepare their PowerPoint
presentations using the data they collected when
writing their letters to the Governor. The
scenario is that the volcanology teams were
selected by the Governor to present their
findings at Olympia to the
Legislature.
HW - None
as long as the Second Draft is turned
in.
Wednesday -
Student teams
will have to show me a completed storyboard of
their presentation before we begin creating the
PowerPoint. As more teams complete their
storyboards, I will begin to teach beginning
lessons on creating a PowerPoint
presentation.
Students
received updated progress reports today along
with all the papers they've turned in this
quarter.
HW -
None.
Friday -
We
will watch two short videos, Plate
Tectonics: Earthquakes, Volcanoes and
Mountains and Volcanoes,
Earthquakes and Other Earth
Movements.
After the
videos, students will be able to work on their
presentations, either the storyboard if they are
not finished yet or on the actual
PowerPoint.
HW - None,
unless there is work missing.
