8th Grade Computer Graphics

Plan for this week:
After the two days where we, as a class, setup the expectations for the remainder of the quarter, we all agreed to spend one and half weeks working on the independent projects. The rest of the quarter was supposed to be spent learning Flash. The class as a whole agreed to pay attention and not talk while I teach so that everyone could keep up with me. I agreed to teach five steps only, then wait two to five minutes to give everyone a chance to catch up. Last week, I was not allowed to teach. I waited after a step or two, I would have to talk over side conversations, and those side conversations would not stop when I asked for them to stop.

Monday, students read books, did homework or worked out of my science textbooks. For the remainder of the quarter, I have come up with a plan after consulting with the principal and other teachers and our Gates Grant coach. I have ways for most students to learn some Flash. Some students will have an alternative choice after several unsuccessful attempts to cooperate and learn.

Email me if you have any questions or concerns.
