Week 1, 2/2 to 2/6, A NEW QUARTER!
(This may change from day to day depending on how much we actually get done in class so check back often to make sure something wasn't changed at the last minute.)

Science grades will be handed out on Monday so that students can see what they will get when report cards come.

6th Grade Science

Monday - Today we will continue to look at the storyboard rubric to see if students want to change how their product will be graded.

Today I will also show students samples of past websites so they can get more ideas.

HW - Show your parents your progress report with your final grade for 2nd quarter science!

Tuesday - Today we will continue to fix the rubric and looking at samples. The samples we are looking will help students make better websites because they are learning from others' mistakes.

Wednesday - Today students will use their flow charts to storyboard their websites. We will spend a few days perfecting the storyboards. Groups that finish early, score it and are happy with their creation and got a good score will begin typing their notes.

8th Grade Computer Graphics

Plan for this week:
Mon - Today students will get a class syllabus/intro and we will decide the direction this class will take this quarter. We can focus on the design aspects of creating web sites or on the content creation aspect of web design. Either way, students will learn how use and manipulate graphics.

Visit the Comp 2 website to view samples of both the design aspects (1st quarter) and the content aspect (2nd quarter).

Tues through Fri - Students chose to go the content way over the design way, much like my second quarter class. Students have been choosing who they want to work with and what topic they would like to work on.

For the remainder of the week, students will brainstorm (students will use Inspiration to create brainstorm) and completely plan out their website. They will storyboard their websites before we even learn how to create them. Here is the storyboard rubric.
