Start checking your 3rd Trimester grades here!

Some 6th and 7th graders are falling behind on their blogging homework. Students need to keep up with their blogging assignments, which is why I have it assigned as homework every night (those who do it won't have it as homework every night, though). The homework is affecting their grade in Science!

6th grade Science:

Monday - Today all three classes completed their Inquiry 6.3 graph and questions 5 and 6 on p. 53. Then everyone started the reflection questions on p. 53. The answer to the first question, A, will be a four paragraph answer including a conclusion paragraph for each section, 6.1 - changing the surface type, 6.2 - changing the weight of the blocks, and 6.3 - changing the surface area of the block, with the fourth and final paragraph being a synthesis of what was learned about friction from the three conclusions.

HW - Blog and here is a copy of what you need to have from all of Lesson 6 in your notebook.

Tuesday - Today I will not see my 6th period class. Today students will have time to work on their lesson 6 reflections.

Wednesday - Today students are still working on their lesson 6 reflections. Writing three conclusions (for Inquiry 6.1, 6.2, 6.3) has been quite a challenge. It's one worth working on so that studets get better at it so I'm helping them plug along so they get the practice.

7th grade Science:

Then we began our study of global warming with this kwl-type sheet.

HW - Blog and bring rocks or gravel for hydroponic garden pots (to keep them from floating).

Tuesday - Today is Earth Day and we will count cars in our parking lot again to see if anyone car pooled and if we decreased the amount of emissions in our town! We will also see how the other 16 schools did tomorrow.

I only see 4th period today so they will continue with the following:

We will check our plants and our butterflies and remaining chrysalises. Then we will keep working on the global warming sheet using the following website.
