6th grade Science:

Monday - President's Day - No School.

HW - None

Tuesday - Period 1 will learn how to graph data using an excel spreadsheet and then take that graph and put it on their results webpage. Period 6 will learn about background images today.

HW - None

Wednesday - Period 1 needed some work on getting their excel graphs completed (it was a little more complicated than I thought). Period 6 will get the excel lesson today.

HW - None

Thursday - Period 1 will get the hot potatoes lesson today (hot potatoes is a program used to create interactive, online quizzes). Period 6 will finish making their excel graphs today. If there is time I will start the hot potatoes lesson.

HW - None

Friday - Period 1 will now get to work on their projects while we (HS senior working on senior project and I) help them as needed. This includes showing teams who wanted buttons on their webs how to make them. Period 6 might be concluding the hot potatoes lesson or they will be ready to start working free of lessons.

The tentative deadline right now is Friday, March 6. We'll see how far along teams are by then.

HW - None

8th grade Science:

Monday -President's Day - No School.

HW - None

Tuesday - Tentative deadline for the Buoyancy Webquest. Students will have all day today to finish. Those who are done will print theirs and begin working on the next blog assignment (there is a new blog about the Float Your Boat lab and then there is a teacher question for students to respond to on the teacher's blog page).

HW - None

Wednesday - Deadline to finish Buoyancy Webquest is today. Those who didn't finish will be graded on what they've completed so far. They can, of course, come in at lunch or after school to complete their project. I had to cut it short because too many teams are spinning their wheels and not getting work done.

HW - None

Thursday - Today I will share some samples of the works that were completed. I have a couple of storybooks and a bunch of mini-magazines and newspapers. I want to get feedback from students on what constitutes good work on this project.

I also showed a review video on buoyancy and density.

HW - Two new blog assignments!

Friday - Today we will start preparing for a lab on isostasy. We will begin by getting initial ideas about Density, Gravity and Motionless, Balanced Floating. Then teams will share their ideas.

HW - Two new blog assignments!
