6th grade Science:

Monday - This is the last week for students to continue taking trips down to the creek to collect their water quality data for our Chimacum Creek Water Quality Project.

This week is also the last week for students to work on the The Case of the Mysterious Macros activitiy.

HW - Click here to download the guide for the number of sentences you should have for the Case of the Mysterious Macros.

Tuesday - I will have a sub today so that I can meet with the Chimacum Science Team.

I spoke with my substitute teacher and she said that since all the students behaved so well last week that she is willing to take my 6th graders to the creek so they won't have to miss a day of testing.

HW - None

Wednesday - See Monday.

HW - See Monday.

Thursday - See Monday. Today is our last day to collect data down at the creek!

HW - See Monday.

Friday - 1st and 3rd periods will be at Market Day so they won't have Science today. 6th period will work on The Case of the Mysterious Macros activitiy. Today is the last day so those who aren't done need to finish it for homework.

HW - Click here to download the guide for the number of sentences you should have for the Case of the Mysterious Macros.

7/8 grade Science:

Monday - Today we will see how scientist use physical scales of observation. Then we will review energy transfers and how to diagram them.

HW - None

Tuesday - I will have a sub today so that I can meet with the Chimacum Science Team.

Students will complete Ch 17, section 3. Studentscan write the question, in which case their responses can be phrases, or they can choose to write full and complete sentence answers so they won't need to write the questions.

HW - None

Wednesday - Today students will observe three different energy transfers, conduction, convection and radiation.

Students noticed that the energy being transferred in those three examples was heat or thermal energy. Thermal energy interactions will be very important in our study of the Earth.

HW - None

Thursday - Today we will look at a few clips explaining conduction, radiation and convection as we continue our study of those three thermal energy interactions.

Then teams will begin a webquest to study conduction, convection and radiation further called The Heat is on!

HW - If you missed today's movie, catch it here.

Friday - The Heat is on! continued.

HW - None
