Week 6, 1/25 to 1/29

(This may change from day to day depending on how much we actually get done in class so check back often to make sure something wasn't changed at the last minute.)

Seventh and Eighth graders in my classes received an early copy of their progress reports giving them this weekend to make up any missing work and get a better midterm grade. Sixth graders are still finishing up their presentations so grades will be updated and progress reports handed out when they are all done.

Daily Schedule
1st per - 7:45am to 8:37am
2nd per - 8:41am to 9:33am
3rd per - 9:37am to 10:29am
Eagle Time - 10:33am to 11:00am
Lunch - 11:00am to 11:32am
4th per - 11:36am to 12:28pm
5th per - 12:32pm to 1:24pm
6th per - 1:28pm to 2:20pm

6th grade Science:

Monday - This is our Water Quality PowerPoint presentation week!

For the three classes teams will be presenting in the following order:

Per 1 - G6, G7, G8, G9, G10, G1, G2, G3, G4 then G5.
Per 3 - G10, G1, G2, G3, G4, G5, G6, G7, G8 then G9.
Per 6 - G7, G8, G9, G10, G1, G2, G3, G4, G5 then G6.

We should be able to get through two to three groups in one period so for all teams to present it should take most of the week.

HW - None if you've already presented or if you are completely prepared.

Check my online progress report to see what you're missing. Email me if you need your password or something. This is the midterm week! Many 6th graders have never completed their weed pulling blog and many are still missing their macroinvertebrate notes. Get it done this week or this weekend!

7/8 grade Science:

Monday - Second period is ready to take an assessment on melting. After they try to answer the question we will discuss their ideas in class.

Fourth period will be taking the convective heat transfer assessment. We will correct those in class. Then they will start the assessment question on melting.

HW - Depends on what you have yet to complete. Check my online progress report to see what you're missing. Email me if you need your password or something. This is the midterm week!

Tuesday - Today students will take an assessment on dissolving. Students will confer over what they think happens when things dissolve then they will share their responses with the class using small whiteboards.

Wednesday - Today we will finish discussing and learning about dissolving. We will begin to go over their answers.

Thursday - Today we will finish our discussion about dissolving and going over the answers. Then we will watch a video on Mixtures and Solutions as students take notes.

Friday - Today I handed back papers and gave everyone a paper copy of their current grades with a list of all the assignments. Students took some time to either glue the papers into their notebooks or put together work for their portfolios for March's student-led conferences.

Then we conitnued to watch and take notes on the Mixtures and Solutions video.
