Week 7, 2/1 to 2/5

(This may change from day to day depending on how much we actually get done in class so check back often to make sure something wasn't changed at the last minute.)

Thursday I gave all my students a midterm progress report. This is my 7th and 8th graders second copy so they should have improved their grade since they had more time than the 6th graders to see what they were missing. You can always view your child's progress on my online progress report webpage to see what they've done to raise their grade.

Daily Schedule
1st per - 7:45am to 8:37am
2nd per - 8:41am to 9:33am
3rd per - 9:37am to 10:29am
Eagle Time - 10:33am to 11:00am
Lunch - 11:00am to 11:32am
4th per - 11:36am to 12:28pm
5th per - 12:32pm to 1:24pm
6th per - 1:28pm to 2:20pm

6th grade Science:

Monday - Third period still has one group left to present their Powerpoint on what they learned. Then they will start what 1st and 6th period will do the entire period.

Today students will take the feedback they got from the Powerpoint presentations and use it to get what they need to create their final presentation - a wiki website.

Student teams will start typing the information for their wikis.

HW - None if you're all caught up.

Tuesday - Early Release today. I will have 1st and 3rd period only.

Today 6th graders will be typing their water quality information onto Word. They are choosing how much information and which types of information to type from all the research they conducted and from the feedback they got last week when they presented to their classes.

Wednesday - Early Release today. I will have my 6th period class.

Thursday - Kai and Sarah from NOSC will visit during 1st period today to give the kids their thanks for the weed pulling.

Teams are still typing their notes onto Word.

7/8 grade Science:

Monday - Today we will have a discussion to see what students think about our planet with regard to the continenetal plates and the oceanic plates in terms of the differences in elevation and the densities of earth rocks (see the following document).

Tuesday - Early Release today.

I will not see any of my 7/8 classes today.

Wednesday - Early Release today.

Today we will finish our discussion of what students think about our planet with regard to the continenetal plates and the oceanic plates in terms of the differences in elevation and the densities of earth rocks (see the following document).

Then we will do an isostasy lab.

HW - None if you're all caught up.

Thursday - Today students will share the data they collected yesterday from the isostasy lab. Then students will use an isostasy simulator to try out the effects of different densities on a solid object floating on a fluid.

HW - Show your parents the second copy of your progress report to show what you've done since seeing the first copy.

Friday - I will have a sub for 2nd period today. They will work on Ch 17, section 4, pages 583 to 589, answering the questions on page 589. Then they can work on the isostasy simulator.

Fourth period will be working on the isostasy simulator.

HW - None, if you're all caught up.
