Mr. González's Classes Daily Activities Week 4, 4/19 to 4/23

6th grade Science: Monday - Today students will continue to work on lesson 4 (Using and Storing Energy in a Battery). The lab part is on page 28 in the book. We will be using Inquiry Boards to learn how to conduct experiments using the Scientific Method. We need to collect each team's data so that we can come up with class averages to graph. Then students will answer questions out of the book. I will upload the questions and class notes and class data as soon as I'm done writing it. (I do that part with the class so I usually upload the notes once we're almost done with that lesson.) HW - None Tuesday - Today teams will answer reflection questions for lesson 4 on page 29. Click here to see what students should have in their notebooks for lesson 4. HW - None Wednesday - Today students need to finish the reflections from page 29 so that we can go over their answers. HW - None Thursday - Happy Earth Day! I will have a sub today as I attend an Earth Day seminar for protecting the Hood Canal and other of WA's water. Today 6th graders will complete the lessons 2 and 3 reading so they can complete their learning of batteries. HW - None Friday - Today students will blog about what they learned about batteries and energy. HW - None

7/8 grade Science: Monday - Today teams will continue to use the feedback I left on the class Volcano Google Doc to continue learning about volcanoes (I left and/or updated my feedback this past weekend so each team will know what to do). HW - None Tuesday - Friday - Teams in both 2nd and 4th period have decided to complete their projects this week and present starting next Monday. I have posted an alternate assignment on the Volcano Google Doc for teams who have answered all their volcano questions and completed their project to their satisfaction. HW - None
