6th grade Science:

Monday - Today I will see where each class is at with their work on Newton's laws. We need to decide how to proceed because we need to wrap up Newton's Laws and we need to finish EMM lesson 5 so that we can start lesson 6 on friction.

Since I have three more days of trainings and grant meetings to attend this week and next week we decided to work on the EMM book and labs while I'm here and do the Newton's Laws work when I have a sub.

HW - None

Tuesday - Today we will finish going over the lesson 5 reflection questions on p. 41 and then we will begin lesson 6 on friction.

HW - Click here to see what your lesson 5 notes should look like (including questions).

Wednesday - I will be at an assessment for learning training today so I will have a sub again today.

Today 6th graders will get to continue working on their Newton's Laws work from last week so that they can finish.

HW - None

Thursday - Today we will continue to collect data on the lesson 6 friction lab, part 1, where students investigate different surface types.

HW - None

Friday - Today we will work on wrapping up part 6.1 and start part 6.2 where students will investigate changing the load or weight to see how that affects friction.

HW - Click here to see what students should have in their notebooks so far (our data and graphs for 6.1 and 6.2 are on one separate student sheet that goes in their notebooks).

7/8 grade Science:

Monday - Today 8th graders will be back with us. We still a couple of days of MSP testing this week so our mornings will be affected.

We are going to try and wrap up or continue our work on the weathering and erosion webquest but I also would like to see if we can somehow wrap up or continue what 7th graders were learning about the Earth, Sun, Moon System.

Student teams worked on their weathering and erosion webquest presentations as many teams still need more time to finish.

HW - None

Tuesday - Continue working on the weathering and erosion webquest presentations.
